Your relationship status with food:
Would it be best described as “It’s Complicated”?

You’re always striving to do your best for everyone around you …and always intend to give that same care and concern to yourself.

You’re always intending to focus on your health and well-being, and fueling your body with nutritious food.

And despite those intentions, your never-ending willingness to try a new diet, and ALL the knowledge you’ve acquired about nutrition…

...you find yourself disappointed again and again.

You’re consistently making promises to yourself about how you’re going to eat…

...and then — eventually or even immediately — you start reaching for something you know you’re going to regret.

It feels like food controls you...like you’re helpless in its presence.

This struggle has left you defeated, demoralized and EXHAUSTED...

...and every part of you has paid a price.

This struggle has left you defeated, demoralized and EXHAUSTED...

...and every part of you has paid a price.

Perhaps, it's the physical price of excess weight, a diagnosis of metabolic syndrome, diabetes, arthritis, fatigue, or joint pain. You’re worried about how your health will impact your future.

There’s the emotional price of feeling shame and worthlessness — like there is something wrong with you.

And there’s the spiritual price of feeling disconnected from your body, from those you love, on the sidelines of your life and completely powerless in your relationship with food.

You’ve tried every single diet and not one of them has worked — at least not in any way that’s been truly lasting or sustainable.

You are so unbelievably sick of carrying around this burden…

...yet without a completely new approach that comes with REALISTIC guidance and an actual long-term plan…

...you have no clue how to put this burden down — and are just about ready to throw in the towel and accept that you’re a lost cause.

Hear this, you are NOT a lost cause, and you’re certainly not alone.

In order to transform your whole self — your mind, your body, and your spirit — in the way you deserve to…

and finally stop struggling with your weight and your relationship with food…
…there is one thing that will bring you closer to freedom.

It’s breaking up with sugar.

The solution to your food and weight problems isn’t more willpower or the next fad diet… …it’s breaking up with sugar for good.

Because it’s sugar that is at the center of all of your struggles with food and it’s sugar that keeps you in an endless loop of starting a new diet over and over and over.

Now, I know what you’re thinking…

Breaking up with sugar sounds HARD.
Breaking up with sugar seems impossible.

And also...just...NO. I love sugar. What’s life without it?

Breaking up with sugar sounds HARD.
Breaking up with sugar seems impossible.

And also...just...NO. I love sugar. What’s life without it?

I’ve heard these fears countless times, and I hear you. But it’s important to consider this:

You love sugar, but the truth is that sugar DOES NOT LOVE YOU BACK. In fact, if sugar was a person, your friends and family may have taken a restraining order out on it by now.

The shame, the excess weight you’re holding, the fear you have about your health, and the hopelessness you feel is some of the best proof that it might be time to break up with sugar.

Breaking up may be hard to do but it is so, so, so worth it. You’ll be exchanging self-loathing for self-love, you’ll end years of constant battle and struggle, and you will finally find a permanent solution to your weight and health concerns that makes you feel fantastic, healthy, and PROUD.

It’s time to enter into a truly nourishing — and healing — relationship with food and break up with sugar for good.

Fortunately, there’s now a program that will support your breakup in a way that’s realistic, doable and sustainable.

A program that is NOT another diet but a step-by-step framework that helps you develop a new and nourishing relationship with yourself.

A program that will help you create an actual PLAN — AND give you strategies for what to do when you feel like falling off track, or just don’t want to do what you know you should do.

A program that will address your physical, biochemical, emotional and spiritual needs, and help you feel whole again.

And a program that finally helps you establish trust and confidence in your ability to make decisions for yourself — where YOU become the boss, not sugar!

I know it may seem difficult to imagine having such a profoundly different relationship with food — especially if you feel deep in the weeds of sugar addiction right now…

...but it IS 100% possible — and completely attainable.

I know this is true because I’ve done it myself...

I know this is true because I’ve done it myself...

...and I’ve helped thousands of people heal their relationships with food, too.

I would love nothing more than to help you do the same.

I’m Molly Carmel — an addictions and eating disorder therapist.

I unsuccessfully battled an eating disorder for over 20 years. I remember being at a weight loss camp when I was 13 years old, knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that this camp would be another diet failure in my sad diet history (and I was right!). I hear a voice inside of me scream, “You should help people! You should create a program that really works!” So I did.

Little did I know I was going to be spending the next 20 years walking a personal and professional path to understand and accept that my solution was breaking up with sugar.

I have a bachelor’s degree in social work from Cornell University, a masters in social work from Columbia University, extensive training in Substance Use, Eating Disorders, and am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy — and even with all of this training, I still deeply struggled in my relationship with food.

It wasn’t until I accidentally gave up sugar (because my brother was doing a cleanse!) that I truly discovered and accepted the true toxicity of sugar, the abusive relationship that I was in with sugar, and the absolute importance of minimizing my exposure — and addiction — to sugar in order to heal my body, mind and spirit. And when I did this, I finally healed. My food problems were solved.

And when I did this, I finally healed. My food problems were solved.

It’s been over 12 years since I broke up with sugar and divorced dieting for good — and the results have been mind blowing. I feel hopeful, excited about life, I have a new belief system. I’ve lost weight - more importantly, I’ve maintained the weight loss for years, enormously improved my health, and have more energy than ever before. I’ve healed myself and my relationship with food, and truly LIVE and LOVE my life.

Not eating sugar doesn’t mean that I’m a masterchef or a meal-prep fanatic, however. I’m just a normal gal, who is in fact a terrible cook who eats out most of the time. Just ask the unopened Cuisinart in my kitchen!

I know what it’s like to be broken-hearted, afraid, and completely hopeless from the abuse that follows food, weight, and diet drama. And I also know that you can OVERCOME these feelings and STOP the drama — and instead renew your relationship with food.

Our food culture tells us that sugar is the solution to our problems - but I implore you to consider that perhaps sugar is not your solution, but rather your problem. And if you look deeply at our society’s issues with health, weight, dieting, sleep and energy, it is hard to deny that sugar is doing us any good.

When we free ourselves of our abusive relationship to sugar, we are able to find actual food freedom. We are presented a gateway into the life that we DESERVE and a better relationship with food and with ourselves.

That freedom is exactly why I created my company, Beacon by MC, which offers signature programs that provide individual and group solutions to overcome emotional eating, food addiction, and binge-eating.

And it’s also what’s led me to create a resource for you, who deserves a solution as unique as your story. A program that fits your individual needs and empowers you to find true nourishment — emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

My heart is completely devoted to you and helping you end your struggles with food — and I’m committed to helping you because breaking free from sugar and dieting has opened my eyes to a whole new capacity to love that I never could have imagined was in me.

I’m so excited to help you uncover this capacity to love, too. Are you ready to learn how?

Program Breakdown

Here’s what you’ll learn and explore in each module of Breaking Up With Sugar…

MODULE
01

The Truth and Intervention

We’ll kick off the course by discussing why breaking up with sugar and healing your relationship with food is the solution that will FINALLY work this time! You’ll learn how sugar impacts your body and how it becomes a full-on addiction that keeps even the most diligent of dieters STUCK. You’ll reflect on your relationship history with food to see where the addictive patterns have been for you, identify how severe your sugar addiction is (or not), and begin to understand the best way to repair that relationship and get started on the path to healing and health. You’ll also explore your core beliefs about sugar, food, and weight so that we can uncover any mindset blocks that may sneak up to thwart your success.

We’ll also dig into:
  • Your unique relationship with sugar and why this course is for you
  • Why we’re breaking up with sugar and not something else
  • The science and nature of the substance, your body and your environment
In this module we’ll use the following tools:
  • Set Aside Prayer to help ground you and set your intentions throughout your journey
  • Your Relationship with Sugar Quiz an evidenced-based assessment tool to get a read on the true nature, the problem, and the severity of your relationship with sugar
  • A Pro/Con List to help you get clear on why you’re taking this course and deal with any ambivalence you may have

MODULE
02

The Sacred Vow

In Module Two, we’ll dive deep into your “why” for healing your relationship with food and kicking sugar to the curb. Your WHY will tap into your true crystal clear motivations for making a change in your life and your relationship with food. Effectively, that WHY will help to fuel the different actions you’re going to be taking on this journey. Then, we’ll discuss the difference between a diet and a relationship with food — and how the reason you’ll find success this time is because you’re developing a healthy, healing relationship with food that doesn’t include sugar. We’ll also discuss why it’s important to define your values in this new relationship, because it’s your values that orient you and help you stay true to yourself. Finally, you’ll learn the one most sacred vow you need to make to yourself that will help you stay the course when the going gets tough and you don’t know what to do.

We’ll also dig into:
  • Why it’s important to have a why — and a ‘positive’ why at that
  • What the sacred vow is and why it’s important to make one
In this module we’ll use the following tools:

MODULE
03

Seven Vows

In Module Three, we’ll discuss the science behind forming new habits so that your new food behaviors can really stick. Research shows that adopting a new behavior takes an average of 66 days to become automatic, so to make sure that YOUR new food behaviors become habits, you’ll learn the seven vows, or the guideposts that will help guide your progress and make the process a whole lot easier, especially when times get tough. You’ll also receive a sample meal plan for how to get started eating sugar-free so that there’s no guesswork — just great food.

  • 3-Day Sample Meal Plan to get you started on eating sugar-free
